SCHOOL CLOSURE TOMORROW - SEPTEMBER 9, 2011:

Good Evening, This is John Collins Superintendent of the Poway Unified school district. I am calling tonight with an important message for all PUSD families and employees regarding the current power outage in San Diego County. Earlier this evening County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Randy Ward announced that based on the uncertainty of having power restored to the entire county by tomorrow morning, and in an abundance of caution, all public schools in San Diego County will be closed tomorrow, Friday, September 9th. Therefore all school in the POWAY Unified School District will be closed tomorrow. Because of this county wide closure, all extra curricular activities including athletic events are also cancelled. In addition to schools, all PUSD district offices, departments, and facilities, including ESS, preschools, adult education and the PEARL day care center will be closed tomorrow. Also, there will be no transportation services provided for special education students who normally receive transportation to out of district programs.

All district employees are NOT to report to work tomorrow unless you are contacted directly by your supervisor. Unless we communicate differently, all schools and offices will re-open on regular schedule Monday morning.

Thank you for your attention to this message and your understanding and support.
