PAQUETE DE INSCRIPCION PARA ESTUDIANTES NUEVOS 2011-2012

 

To enroll in the 2011-2012 school year,

follow the steps below:

This website provides all the necessary forms required to complete your new student enrollment for the 2011-2012 school year. Please follow the step-by-step instructions and proceed as directed.

 

Senate Bill (SB) 1381, the Kindergarten Readiness Act, was signed into law by Governor Schwarzenegger on September 30, 2010.  This law changes the age a student must be to enroll in kindergarten and is being implemented incrementally by school year as follows: 

  *2010-2011:  Children must be five years old on or before December 2, 2010
  *2011-2012:  Children must be five years old on or before December 2, 2011
  *2012-2013:  Children must be five years old before November 1, 2012
  *2013-2014:  Children must be five years old before October 1, 2013
  *2014-2015:  Children must be five years old before September 1, 2014

We are still awaiting guidance from the the California Department of Education regarding the impact of this law on our Poway's Extended Primary Program (PEPP).

New student enrollment for grades K-12 will take place at the school sites. Please download the proper forms (see below) and then visit your school website to see the dates and times each school office is open for new student enrollment.

 

STEP 1 ~ You will need the latest free version of Adobe Acrobat to download these forms.   Click to download. Be sure to uncheck any other 3rd Party add-ins. Once download is completed, you  may need to restart your computer.

 

STEP 2 ~ It is important that you read each of the required forms in the table listed below.  When you sign the Signature Verification Form you are acknowledging that you have read all required forms.

 

STEP 3 ~ Please be sure to bring the following ORIGINAL documents with you upon enrollment: 

• Original Birth Certificate, Current Passport or Baptismal Certificate(K-12).  As required by State law, all children entering kindergarten must be five years of age on or before December 2, 2011.   
• Immunization Records Click for current immunization information (K-12). All children are required to have their vaccinations fully completed before enrolling in school, unless exempt, as provided by law.   PLEASE NOTE:  Effective July 1, 2011, students entering Grades 7-12 will need proof of a Tdap booster shot before school begins on August 24, 2011. 
• Two Documents as Proofs of Residency (K-12) Click for appropriate documents for address verification
  
• Transcript from previous school (6-12)

STEP 6 ~  Return all necessary forms to your student's school(s) during assigned enrollment time.
