How to complete assignments:

Vocabulary and Grammar Exercises:  These assignments are due on Monday.  Written and online assignments must be turned in to E-7 or my mailbox in F-1.    Most assignments will be worth 5 points each, with an average of 25 points available each week.

Discussion Board:  There will be a topic posted each week to the discussion board on Learning Point.  You must post your comment and a response to a classmate's comment by midnight, Friday.

Current Events:  Each week a student will be assigned to present orally a current event from the week from a Spanish speaking country.  The presentation must be prepared in advance, must be a minimum of four sentences, including appropriate vocabulary.  The student will introduce the class to the new terms, then present their information, in Spanish.  A minimum of one follow-up question will be addressed to the class.  The presentations will be worth 20 points, and students answering the follow-up questions will receive extra credit.

Activities:  There will be several of these type of projects throughout the semester.  Requirements and deadlines will be posted and discussed during class time.  These activities will usually incorporate cultural components with the current area of study in the class.  The value of these activities will be based on the time required to complete them appropriately.

Reflections:  From time to time, you will be asked to write a summary of the grammar or cultural theme of the class.  The purpose of the reflection is to have you put into your own words what you have learned.    I will review it to make sure that no major points have been missed or confused.  These reflections will also be useful as review and study tools.

Other:  There will no doubt be other assignments and activities as the year progresses.  These will be announced as they come up.
