Monday - Arguably, one of the best speeches of all time was given by John F. Kennedy during his inauguration as our 35th President. Read and / or listen to J.F.K.'s Inaugural Address. Answer the attached questions . (A-20) History Social Science Standard 11.11.2 We will then examine the rise of John F. Kennedy and finally we watch a video segment of his race for the Presidency. Tuesday- In order to provide you with some more background information, read about the achievements of J.F.K. during his presidency. Then, go to the following Thinkquest site. It focuses on the Cuban Missile Crisis. Read the information about the Bay of Pigs first and then explore The Cuban Missile Crisis. For more information about The Cuban Missile Crisis, you can listen to this short lecture. This is a good site. Take time exploring it. When you are done, take both sections of the quiz. You never know, your teacher just might include some of these questions on your Kennedy quiz on lab day. History Social Science Standard 11.9.3 Lab Day- We will start today by taking the Cold War quiz. We will then see three video segments (the Bay of Pigs invasion, the Berlin Wall, and the Cuban Missile Crisis) and you will answer these questions. Friday- We will start today by reviewing notes on the Vietnam War. We will then view several video segments and answer questions which will detail the impact The Tet Offensive had on public opinion regarding the war. History Social Science Standard 11.9.3 If you are absent today, listen to the Vietnam War lecture. As you listen to the lecture, answer these questions. (A-32)
