Week 19

Monday- Today we are going to attend an assembly.

Tuesday-  Today we will be focusing on President James Earl Carter. We will start by examining a timeline of his life. Then we will shift gears and study the crisis that dominated his Presidency.

About  a year before Jimmy Carter's Presidential term was to come to an end, a crisis arose in Iran when Americans in the US Embassy in Iran were taken hostage. Read about the background of the hostage crisis at the Jimmy Carter library.

Now that you have a little background, visit the American Experience at PBS.org and read about 4 pivotal days from this crisis. Each day contains an event and reactions from people in the United States. For each date, choose the reaction that you would be most likely to agree with and explain why you agree with that position.  (A-15)
