The Supreme Court has decided thousands of cases.  Each one impacts American society in varying degrees.  Your assignment today is to find out about 15 of the most important cases in Supreme Court History.  Remember, when studying cases, the most important thing to know is the holding -- the decision by the Supreme Court. To receive credit for this assignment, you must have the decision of the S. Court, the bottom line.  Do not give details or use language that you do not understand; simply give the decision.  The first case is done for you as an example.

You will accessing the site Oyez, Oyez, Oyez to search for the holding on the cases given. Find the case by using the "party name search."  All you need to do is to type in one of the name involved in the case.  Find the date on the case docket, but read the abstract for the holding.  If you cannot find a case at the Oyez site, then go to www.google.com and type in the case name.
