I have been teaching for many years, primarily in second and third grade.  I love being a Creekside Gecko and teaching your second graders!  In addition to teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, going to the beach, and exercising.  Often you will find my husband (who is also a Poway teacher) and me supporting our two children in their many sports activities.

I have been in the district for 15 years.  I have two children, Carly 6 years old and Kyle 14 years old.  I grew up in Fairfax, Virginia and went to college at San Diego State.  I am happy to be working at Creekside.

Christie Weidetz

I was born in Mexico City and moved to San Diego in my early childhood. I consider myself a "native" and graduated from SDSU. I have a master’s in Educational Technology and a background in nursing. I currently teach Kindergarten but have also taught 1st, 3rd and 4th grades. I am the proud mother of 3 wonderful grown children David. an art director for a local company, Erich, a toy designer for Mattel and Elizabeth, finishing her last year at SDSU and a future veterinarian.

I live in Scripps Ranch and have 3 sons’ ages 21, 18 and 11. My two oldest are students at UC. Davis. Go Aggies! I like to golf although the ball never goes where I tell it to.  I love to read and take my Kindle with me wherever I go. Halloween is my favorite holiday and brownies are the way to my heart. I've spent all 24 years of my teaching career in P.U.S.D. teaching grades K, 1, 2, and 3. I love to loop from 1st to 2nd grade. Six, seven and eight year olds are my all time favorite little people.
