Registering as a Volunteer

Morning Creek uses a web based application called ‘PTO Manager’ to communicate with our volunteers and allow them to view and volunteer for upcoming events. Please go to www.mces.ptomanager.com to sign up. Contact Lisa Velazquez at lisa@jlvelazquez.com with any questions.

Visitations and Volunteers

Parents are always welcome and are encouraged to help in the classroom. Appointments should be scheduled with the teacher 24 hours in advance and generally last about an hour. If you want to talk to the teacher about your child, please make an appointment outside of school time. Teachers understandably need to be with their students immediately before, during and after class time.

IMPORTANT:  All visitors to Morning Creek must sign in at the office and wear a Visitor or Volunteer badge while on campus!

Parents and members of the community are encouraged to become involved and volunteer at Morning Creek.  Anyone working with students, in a classroom, must have a current, negative TB Test and Megan’s Law Background Clearance Check on file in the office. TB clinics are held monthly at the District Health Services Department. A school volunteer may:

Field Trip Drivers

Many classes use parent volunteer drivers for class field trips.  If you would like to be considered, you need the following:

TB Testing

Each volunteer must have a current TB test on file with the school site office. PUSD offers TB clinics to our volunteers. Volunteers need proof from their school sites they are indeed volunteers. Take this proof with you to the clinic. Click HERE for the schedule.

Megan’s Law Background Check

Each volunteer must have a current Megan’s Law Background Check on file with the specific school site office. Volunteers need only fill out one Megan's Law form with the schools listed. Volunteers only need to fill out the Megan’s Law form and be cleared once. You do not need to fill out a new form for each school year. If you have volunteered at another school in PUSD, and wish to make a school site change -- please notify the office and fill out the Transfer Request for Megan's Law.

Volunteer Code of Conduct

Volunteers must have a Volunteer Code of Conduct form (page 1 and page 2)on file at each site they volunteer at. If you plan to drive on a field trip: You will need to fill out this form: Private Vehicle Transportation for Student's off-site Student Experience.
