ConnectEd Message Update for October 31, 2011
Hello Midland Families,
This is Ms. Lerner calling with your Sunday Night Reminders & Information for the upcoming school week:
- Tomorrow, October 31st, is Halloween. We do not celebrate Halloween at Midland. Please do not send your child in a costume and do not send your child’s costume to school. We hope, if you and your family celebrate Halloween, you have a great time trick-or-treating tomorrow evening.
- This year the PTA plans to collect all unwanted and leftover Halloween candy to send overseas to our troops in Afghanistan. Please look for the flyer that will come home sometime during the beginning of this week for more information.
- On Friday, November 4th, our PTA will be hosting Midland’s annual Fun Run! Please make sure your children wear their sneakers and comfortable clothes on Friday so they can run as many laps as possible to raise money for our school. All Fun Run Pledge Sheets and money are due to your teacher by Tuesday, November 1st.
- Parent/Teacher conferences will be held during the week of November 14th – 18th. These days will be Minimum Days which means we will NOT be operating under our typical daily schedule. All students, in grades K-5, will begin school at our regularly scheduled time (8:00 AM), but will be dismissed at 12:00PM for the entire week. PEPP hours will continue on their standard daily schedule throughout this week. Please mark your calendars to ensure everyone remembers this important change.
- Save the date! The Midland Educational Foundation’s 3rd Annual Auction (80’s Night) will take place in the evening on Saturday, December 3rd. Remember, parents who attend the auction will be able to have their Midland Rattlers participate in a “Kids Night Out” pizza and pajama party in the Midland MPR on the very same night!
- And lastly… tomorrow is Monday, so let’s pick out our favorite college clothing and wear it to school to help us set the tone for a great week of academic learning!
That’s it for now… have a wonderful evening.
Ms. Lerner
