Students display your artistic talents by participating in the 2010-2011 National PTA Reflections Program. Finalists from POWAY HIGH SCHOOL may advance to the District and State Level and receive special recognition next spring. The top California entries will advance to the National Level.
The DEADLINE for submission of all entries is October 20, 2011
The 6 arts areas included in this competition are: Literature, Musical Composition, Photography, Dance Choreography, Film/Video Production, and Visual Arts. (Visual arts include painting, drawing, collage, printmaking, computer art, or fiber work.)
The National PTA Reflections Program is an art recognition and achievement program for students.
The Reflections Program provides opportunities for students to express themselves creatively and to receive positive recognition for original works of art inspired by the pre-selected annual theme, while increasing community awareness on the importance of the arts in education.
Please remember the following:
1. All entries submitted must be original works and must relate to the annual Reflections Program theme. Use of copyrighted material is not acceptable in any submission except as follows: Visual arts collages may include portions of existing copyrighted works as long as those portions are used to create a completely new and different work of art, Dance Choreography and Film Production entries may use copyrighted music if title, composer, etc. are credited, and other visual arts may include public places, well-known products, etc. if the copyrighted material is incidental to the subject matter of the piece.
The use of copyrighted cartoon characters or other images in visual arts, photography or other Reflections categories will disqualify that entry. If you have any questions, please contact the Reflections coordinator, Chrissy Stone at cstone1@san.rr.com.
2. Each entry must be the work of only one student. Assistance from teachers, parents or friends is not permitted except in special cases (such as for those with visual or physical disabilities).
3. The entry and waiver forms along with the program general rules and category rules are available above for download.
