The Pomerado Foundation assists in the development of educational programs that promise significant contributions to the education of Pomerado students, and provides additional financial support for technology at Pomerado Elementary. The Foundation Board of Directors meets monthly to determine projects and review goals. Over the years the Foundation has raised funds for classroom technology purchases, supplies, new computers, software, LCD projectors, and doc-u-cams our newest instructional tool. To meet their goals, the Foundation has worked hard to build fundraising opportunities that do not include having students sell products. This year the Foundation will hold a "no fuss" fall fundraising campaign as well as their annual spring time Fun Run. The Foundation is not restricted in the type of fundraising or the specificity of how to spend money and can carry money over from year to year to support long term goals. We are fortunate to have a group of parents with the vision and commitment to create this incredible opportunity for our school and especially for our children. If you are interested in helping or joining the Foundation please leave a message in the office for the Foundation President, Angel Ryan.
OUR PURPOSE:
The purpose of our Foundation is to provide additional financial support to Pomerado Elementary School. Donations enable the school to enhance the learning experience for our children today and students of the future.
How Are Funds Raised:
The Foundation hosts events and programs throughout the school year to allow our school to earn money. The Foundation is not in competition with the PTA. In fact, it was formed to allow us access to additional unrestricted funds to assist our school. By charter, the PTA is limited to fund-raising in order to support its own programs.
The Foundation is running a Dime-A-Day Campaign this fall, the biannual silent and live Auction Night, and the annual Fun Run in the Spring to raise funds.
Foundation is also selling green "Responsibility" themed t-shirts this
school year for $10 each, and red "Caring" t-shirts for $8 each (limited
quantities). We encourage students to wear the shirts to Wildcat
Assembly, Spotlight and other school events as a reminder to model these
traits. Your donations are tax deductible, and all the funds raised benefit our school.
Dime-A-Day Campaign
What is a dime worth? By itself, it cannot purchase much these days. However, a collection of dimes adds up. The Pomerado Elementary School Foundation is asking everyone to pledge at least a dime a day for the number of school days (180 days) to help raise money for new technology and necessary classroom supplies for our kids at school. The Dime-A-Day Campaign is held at the beginning of each school year, however your tax deductible donations to the Pomerado Elementary School Foundation are accepted all year long.
EMPLOYER DONATION MATCHING
Many companies offer matching gift programs to encourage
employees to contribute to charitable organizations. Most of these
programs match contributions dollar for dollar, and some will even
double or triple the amount of your gift!
