FoundationAbout

Please take a moment to acquaint yourself with the Painted Rock School Foundation.  The Foundation is an independent, non-profit organization created for the sole purpose of improving the education of the students of Painted Rock.  The Foundation Board is a group of parents and staff committed to continuing Painted Rock’s extraordinary level of services, which is made possible by financial support of the community and the families of Painted Rock students.

The Foundation does only four fundraisers a year.

  • 252 - Campaign is held in the fall in partnership with the PTA (the proceeds are split).
  • Time with Teacher - is an online auction in which you can purchase a special experience for your or your child with their favorite teacher or staff member.
  • Dinner Auction - is a dinner auction, to be held this year on Friday, March 23, 2012 at the Tavern & Bowl in Escondido. It promises to be fun and worth saving the date.
  • Jogathon - is held in May, also in conjunction with the PTA, to help fund our physical education program.

Why are the fundraisers necessary? The state government has significantly cut the budget for education, leaving classrooms overcrowded and giving the teachers no money to buy supplies to help teach your child. The Foundation funds a physical education teacher, a reading specialist (both with the PTA), staff support, computer software and hardware, paper for copies, and $20 per student for each teacher to buy supplies for the year. All of this totals more than $80,000 a year.  Since your donations are our only source of income, we ask for your help.  Our only goal is to help improve your child’s education.

We invite you to our meetings (held in the school library at 6:30 p.m. on the third Monday of Sept., Nov., Jan., March and May) to find out more about the Foundation.  Your input and support is welcome at any time.

Thank you,
