Mission Statement and Goals

The mission of the Shoal Creek Elementary PTA is to support and enhance our school and our community. We empower and support our members with skills in advocacy, leadership, and communication to positively impact the lives of our community's children and their families.

Goals for 2011-2012 School Year

1. Enhance the education of students at Shoal Creek through Library Guild, Art Docent, Reflections and grade level programs/grants.

>2. Commit to programs and events that are no cost or low cost making them available to the benefit of all students such as Father/daughter event and Mother/son event.>

3. Increase PTA members awareness of importance of child and education advocacy through the monthly newsletter, periodic information flyers, and bulletin board.

4. Increase membership to 275 and earn Early Bird and Chairman’s Club Awards.

5. Advance Health and Safety Awareness through Walk to School Day, Handwashing Campaign, periodic handouts, newsletter inserts/articles and website.

6. Increase PTA communication via Room Parents, newsletter, email (BigTent on-line tool), and office bulletin board. Work to include families that speak languages other than English into our programs and events.
