Mission/Vision for Turtleback Elementary School
Janet Bernard , Principal
We believe all students can learn!
Our mission is to ensure that each and every student achieves optimal academic progress and acquires the critical habits of mind (especially the abilities to think critically and creatively) during his or her tenure as a Turtleback Terrapin.
We envision every Turtleback alumni, upon reaching adulthood, earning at least a family living wage and leading a meaningful, productive life. We know from a preponderance of research that this vision is much more likely to be realized for students who successfully complete post-secondary education or training. Therefore, we embrace our role in preparing our students for a full range of post-secondary choices.
FUNDAMENTAL TO OUR MISSION ARE:
- Community education and participation
- Effective management of resources
- A competent and caring staff
- Collegiality
- A safe, orderly, and attractive environment
- Learning through exploration, problem solving, and cooperation.
We believe in building CHARACTER!
Trustworthiness ~ Fairness ~ Respect ~ Caring ~ Responsibility ~ Citizenship
