Sample of a completed CSF
Application
Westview is an official chapter of the
California Scholarship Federation!
CSF is a statewide organization that recognizes high academic performance.
Students who qualify for membership for at least 4 semesters, one of which
must be based on senior year grades, become a CSF Life Member. We
honor our graduating CSF Life Members at an end of the year banquet, during
which we present each student with a certificate and their CSF gold cord, an
honor cord that they can wear proudly at graduation. In addition, his/her
high school diploma will have the official CSF gold seal. There are also a
few financial scholarships awarded by the CSF central office. Primarily,
this is one of those things that makes students feel great about their
academic achievements AND looks good on the college applications.
So, please encourage all students to fill out and submit an
application each
semester. At the time they submit the
application, they must
have proof of their grades, either in the form of a report card OR a copy of
their transcript. There is a fee of $10 per semester. These fees go towards
the costs of the gold cords, certificates, the banquet, and registration
fees. Checks may be written out to Westview High School – with the name of
the student in the memo section.
10th, 11th, and 12th graders may submit an application EVERY semester,
during the first month, on Fridays at lunch in Ms. Loo’s room (D105).
Membership for a given semester is based on the grades earned from the
previous semester. For example, for membership in CSF for Fall 2009,
students will use their grades from Spring 2008, Quarters 3 and 4. Please
see the
application form for
details of requirements for membership.
CSF membership is voluntary and it is the responsibility of the student to
submit the
application EVERY
semester.
Any further questions can be answered at the Friday meetings so just send
them our way!!
