About Westview's US Navy JROTC Program

NJROTC is a citizenship development program that instills service to the United States, personal responsibility and a sense of accomplishment in students in United States secondary educational institutions.  The NJROTC program teaches cadets self-discipline, self-confidence and leadership skills to help meet life's challenges and helps prepare them for life after high school regardless of what career path they decide to take.  Cadets who participate in the program do not have to serve in the military after high school graduation - it's simply another elective offered at Westview.  However, NJROTC cadets do have a higher than average selection rate for college ROTC scholarships.

Westview NJROTC is among the Nation's elite programs and was one of only three units last year to qualify for NJROTC Nationals in bothMarksmanship and the Drill, Athletic and Academic Championship.  There are currently 632 programs in the United States.

Over the past three years, Westview Navy Cadets have been offered just short of $2,000,000 in college scholarships and currently attend Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, The United States Military AcademyArizona, Auburn, Westminster (in Salt Lake City), UC Merced, Cal Maritime Academy, Cal Poly SLO, Sacramento State, Utah, Wentworth Military Academy, Arizona State, USD, Washington, Azusa Pacific, Texas A&M, Sonoma State, Northern Arizona University and the United States Coast Guard Academy.   Former Cadets have graduated from notable universities such as the United States Naval AcademyUnited States Coast Guard Academy and the University of San Diego.  Other cadets have joined the United States Marine Corps, the Navy, the Air Force and the California National Guard.
