NEWS ITEMS

2011-12 SCHOOL YEAR COURSE REQUESTS [9th-11th graders]

Beginning in March, counselors will be visiting classrooms to review the course selection  process for next year with current students.  Since course selection occurs online in Family Connection, we will be resetting student passwords if accounts have not been accessed in six months or longer.  If you are interested in a timeline of activities, click here for more information.

IMPORTANT:  COLLEGE APPLICATION STATUS  [12th graders]

Seniors, if any colleges send you communication via e-mail, calls or mail that requires action on your part, please do not ignore their requests and assume that everything is routine.  Colleges offer provisional admittance to students, which means they have the right to revoke admission for any number of reasons.  Here are some examples of possible reasons for revocation:

Transcripts are not sent in when they have requested them, either as part of the application process or after contacting you.  Additionally, some colleges also require mid-year transcripts and mid-year reports.  If you are not sure if this applies to you, please contact the admissions office of each college in which you have submitted an application.

ACT/SAT scores are not sent in.  Don't rely on them being listed on your transcript.

Classes you are taking second term have changed and you did not notify admissions.

You fail a course.

To avoid any problems with admission, please be sure to check your student portal for each college or university at least 1-2 times per week.  You will see a "to do" list of things you will need to take care of at various times, in addition to e-mails or other messages that may be sent to students.  Unfortunately, a few students have been told their applications are incomplete for various reasons and, in some situations, they are no longer eligible for fall admission for that particular college.  Don't let this happen to you!
