Front Page News
Congratulations to Taylor McNamara who just finished
competing in the US Army All-American game in Texas. After spending the
weekend with Coach Woody and his parents in San Antonio and signing over a
thousand autographs he then finished his last day of high school at Westview
and flew to Norman, Oklahoma to begin his career as a Sooner. Taylor will be
competing for the starting tight end position this spring while catching
passes from 2012 Heisman candidate Landry Jones. Hard to believe this young
man is only 17 years old and finished with high school during the middle of
his senior year and now battling for a starting position at one of the
greatest football programs in the country! Go TMac!!!
Westview now has an impressive three current Division-1 athletes in the last
three years: Taylor McNamara (TE) Oklahoma, Taylor Reich (OL) SMU, and Mitch
Bartolo (RB) Cal.
Another congratulations is in order for seniors Spencer Bigelow and Eric
Beagle. Both have been nominated for the National Football/College Hall of
Fame Scholarship award later this winter. Spencer and Eric's on and off the
field accolades are too many to list on this front page, but it goes without
saying that their contributions on the playing field and community service
efforts have not gone unnoticed. Both of these college-bound athletes have
provided our program with exceptional service that has not been matched
since the opening of the school. Thanks for your representation gentlemen!
