Coaching Philosophy
As a first year head coach, I will
continue to emphasize the teaching aspect of coaching
young men and women. Track and Field has been a part of
my life for over 20 years and I hope to instill a
similar passion in my athletes about this great sport.
It is my job as coach and my staff’s to
communicate not only the proper techniques but also to
explain how the use of poor technique affects
performance. Our program puts a premium on emphasizing
the development of the athlete rather than the
prominence of individuals or the team. We aim to
challenge our kids’ notion of success while fostering
their competitive spirit. It is my sincere hope that we
are also successful in conveying the benefits of a
healthy lifestyle.
I appreciate the parents for
entrusting their children to us and am thankful for any
and all of the supporters of the Westview Track and
Field Program!

Track & Field Alumni Request
The Track and Field Family is
trying to honor the exploits of former Wolverines who
have or are currently participating in Collegiate
Athletics.
We value our history as well as the present and would
like to build a bridge between the two. Please contact
Coach Jamal
Felton with the relevant information so that we can
accurately portray you and your activities.
