Westview GOLD - Band Member Rules

Band Member Rules at Football Games:

All band members must sit in their correct assigned section.

Non-band member friends are not allowed to join them in the bleachers.

Band members are not allowed to play their instruments separately (called "noodeling"). They may only play as a group.

Band members must pay attention to the conductors when they are speaking and conducting.

Band members are representing their school and their actions reflect on Westview. Public displays of affection are not permitted.

No food or drink (except water) may be consumed while band members are in their uniforms.

Band members must go to the restroom with a chaperone and return promptly. There will be no restroom breaks 5 minutes or less before halftime and / or 5 minutes or less before the end of the game.

No horseplay is allowed.

When drinking water, band members should not touch their lips to the water bottle straw itself; instead, they should simply squirt the water into their mouths without touching the straw.

Members will return uniforms, properly hung on a hanger, to the uniform chairperson or assistants at the conclusion of each marching band activity.

All band members know these rules and should follow them, even though sometimes they need to be reminded.
