Arcadia Tournament
The parade will be in Arcadia (Yahoo Map) on Saturday, November 21, 2009 and the field show will be at Citrus College (Yahoo Map).

Your student will need to eat / bring breakfast or any additional snacks needed / wanted.
Your student will need to bring lunch and dinner or money to purchase lunch and dinner after their performances – Please remember, there will be limited space on the buses, so no large coolers, please….
If your student wishes to bring a late-night snack (cup-o-noodles, ramen… ) bring a plastic eating utensil… The hotel does not have silverware available late at night

A full breakfast is provided at the hotel.
Students will need to bring money for lunch and dinner at Disneyland
Clothes
Saturday, 11/21
Travel uniform is required after the performance on Saturday. Please, please ensure that your student has the required black pants or blue or black jeans and jacket (Westview Gold pullover, zip-up or WV Letterman’s jacket.) Students should not wear shorts after the performance.
It was very sad to see so many students shivering and cold after their performance at Vista. Many students dressed for the very warm weather (shorts and a t-shirt) for practice but did not bring any warm clothes for the evening when the temperatures dropped. This may happen at Arcadia – it may be warm during the day, but the evening will be cold.
We have Westview Gold pullovers available for $20.00. Students can buy them either before or after rehearsals this week.
Because both of these events occur during the daylight hours & into the evening, please ensure that your student has the appropriate clothing to cover the weather extremes. We have seen students come dressed in shorts & a t-shirt since it is warm during the day, but they have nothing warm to wear for the cold evening temperatures.
11/21 @ Arcadia
Day-time parade - shorts & black / dark t-shirt, black socks above the ankle.
Evening Field show – after the show - Westview Gold polo or your black, dark t-shirt. LONG pants / jeans & bring an approved Westview logo sweatshirt, jacket or Westview letterman’s jacket.
Please understand that the Westview Gold sweatshirt is part of the travel uniform requirements; not an option. For those students that do not yet have a Westview jacket / sweatshirt, we will have pull-over hoodies available for $20 after practices on Monday, Wednesday & Friday evenings in the band room. We do not have all sizes available (lots of Large, XL & XXL) but it will keep them warm.
Students not wearing the appropriate after show clothing will need to sit with a chaperone for the evening show (and they’ll still be cold, to boot), not with their friends.
11/22 @ Disneyland
Day-time – school appropriate clothing.

Students live for the moment – however, if you do not want your student to come down with a cold or be susceptible to the flu (just in time for the Thanksgiving break) then please ensure that they bring warm clothes for the evening.

Personal Items
Students are responsible for their own items – bring at your own risk. Chaperones, Band Dads & Bus drivers are not available to keep an eye on Game Boys, Playstations 1, 2 or 3, Wii, X-Boxes, DS, PSP or any other electronics
ARCADIA/DISNEYLAND REMINDER
Please submit a check for $45.00 to cover the cost of the hotel, made out to Westview, in the White Box by Friday, November 13th. Please note that you will need to send money for lunch and dinner at Arcadia. Breakfast will be provided at the hotel. You will also need to send money for lunch and dinner at Disneyland.

Hotel Arrangements
Dear Parents,
As you know the marching band will be performing at Disneyland the day after Arcadia this year. While the students will not have their day at Magic Mountain , the good news is they get to perform AND play at Disneyland ! As in the past, we have asked for a nominal fee to cover this end of season trip. The approximate cost for the room & breakfast is around $45.00 per student. Other funds that you will need to send with your child will be for meals both at Arcadia and Disneyland . Details and info on the trip will be announced through the Yahoo group email. Please bring your questions to the Parent Meeting on Monday, November 9.
We will be staying at the Hilton Garden Inn after the Arcadia Tournament. Families are welcome to stay at the same hotel and may book the room at the group rate of $119 for either double queen or one king bed room, with breakfast included. Please mention that your family is part of the Westview High School Band when you make the reservation. The cut off date for the group rate is Wednesday, November 10.
