Objective  

To meet the needs of Westview students, staff and parents, by utilizing our financial, organizational and volunteer resources and celebrate the first 10 year Anniversary of Westview!

Goals

Families and Community

1.

Communicate effective and educational information to parents and students on important issues by:

  a.



Establishing the consistent maintenance of the Westview PTSA pages (Facebook,etc.) Connect Ed for parents, students and the community that will allow easy access to information on Westview PTSA programs, events. Etc. 

  b.

Distributing information on all PTSA programs and events.

  c.

Sponsoring a safety and wellness program for parents and students.

  d.

Collaborate with SWACC (Safety, Wellness Advocacy Community Coalition) to bring in community resources.

     
2. Offer financial assistance to families in need:
  a.

Offer assistance through a community concerns program that facilitates teachers/staff and student donations during the holidays.

  b.

Offer financial assistance to students using guidelines set by PTSA board and counseling staff.

     
3.

Support College and Career Readiness by:

  a.

Offer Mock Testing

  b. Support and promote the PUSD College Fair
  c. Support and promote information and resources in the Wolverine Center including Family Connection.
     
4. Utilize online store for PTSA services via PTAEZ
   
5.
Educate parents about Grad Nite and recruit and train volunteers for GN committees.

Teachers/Staff

1. Create better teacher/staff involvement in all PTSA activities by:  
  a.

Establish a quarterly board meeting that a teacher/staff member will attend.  This meeting will provide a 2 way communication system for purposeful exchange of information.

  b. Support online store through Palomar Council's efforts.
  c.
Provide staff recognition through the Student and Staff Recognition Program.

Students

1. Promote the overall well being and success of students by:
  a.

Provide effective communication of PTSA programs directly to students via texting.

  b.

Provide programs such as  Reflections, Student and Staff Recognition, College and Career Readiness)

  c.

Provide support for the Student Services Dept and ASB

  d.

Offer a safe graduation celebration for seniors through Grad Nite.

2. Provide student leadership opportunities within PTSA by:
  a. Actively looking for ways to involve students in the Board’s work
  b.

Collaborate with various community groups to provide community service opportunities.

Programs

Character Counts!, College/Career Readiness, Reflections, Student/Staff Recognition, Student Testing Incentives, Grad Nite, Senior Scholarships, Staff Grants, Wellness Fair, and Online School Supply Store.

Fundraisers

Logo Sales (T-shirts, W stickers, magnets), Mock Testing, Student Directory, Online Drivers Education,  Princeton Review Test Preparation, Grad Nite
