Some may also need to be fingerprinted. See below. What is Megan’s Law and why do I need it? In 2003, PUSD determined that for the safety of students all regular volunteers must have their names cleared through the Megan’s Law database. This database is the State of California sex offender list. Click here to obtain a copy of this application. A “regular” volunteer is someone who is on campus once a month or more. It is easy to fill out the form and be ready to volunteer when called! What if I did my Megan’s Law at another school? If your student was at Mesa Verde Middle School or another middle school within PUSD, you will need to complete the Megan's Law Transfer Form. What about TB testing? All regular volunteers must also have a current TB test on file. All tests are valid for four years. You must obtain a TB test from your own health provider. A copy of the results can be left with the health technician when completed. Who needs to be fingerprinted? If you are scheduled to volunteer in a situation where you will not be directly supervised, you will be told you need to be fingerprinted. PUSD cannot accept fingerprinting done through other organizations. Please see the front desk for a Level 2 form.
