Mrs. Heinzman

Dear Parents,

Hello, my name is Mrs. Heinzman.  I am very excited to have your student in my fifth grade class this year.  Please feel free to visit or call me at any time this year.

I grew up in Big Bear Lake, Calif.  and lived there until I turned 18 and moved away to attend college.  I'm an all around mountain girl! I love to snow ski, water ski, hike, camp, and spend time outside. I received my Bachelor's degree from UCSD, my teaching credential for Cal State San Marcos, and a masters in education from Grand Canyon University.

In my spare time, I enjoy being with my husband Tom,  son Connor, and daughter Kylie. I love to read,  enjoy traveling, cooking, and spending time with friends and family.

I am looking forward to a great year preparing your child for middle school.  If you have any questions, concerns, suggestions, or would just like to visit feel free to call, drop by, write me a note, or send me an e-mail.

Sincerely,
Kellene Heinzman

Dear Parent(s),

To Our Students!

Dear Students,

Welcome to room 18.  This year promises to be challenging and rewarding.  We are  excited to be your teacher and I will do my best to prepare you for the demands that you will face next year as you embark on middle school.   In order to be successful, you will first need to know your responsibilities as a student. The classroom rules are as follows:
Permission as need to talk
Respect others at all times
In your place and working
Directions followed the 1st time given
Express yourself appropriately
If you follow these simple rules you should have an enjoyable and successful year.  Additionally, you will need to be responsible in turning in all assignments on time.  If you do not already have good organizational skills we will work on this throughout the year, as it is a necessity next year when you have several teachers and numerous assignments!

Remember...energy and effort are required to succeed. When you give only the minimum, you receive only the minimum in return.   Always have high expectations for yourself and convert every challenge into an opportunity. We're very excited for the year that we will spend together.

Your Teachers,

Mrs. Heinzman & Mrs. Otero
