Hello F5 Families!                                                                              September 11, 2009

Let us briefly introduce ourselves. We are the F5 Arts Attack team:  Kris Kitabjian Matt’s mom, Mei Walsh Christine’s mom and Michele Fox  Nick’s mom. Ms. Weidetz has embraced this program whole heartedly and very enthusiastic to begin right away as we are too so Mei Walsh has volunteered to kick off the program by doing a lesson on color called Scarecrow today. We will be doing Arts Attack on an average of 2-4 times a month on Fridays from 11:30-12:30. We will meet at the F village Arts Attack Classroom (yes they converted one of the unused classrooms for Arts Attack how awesome is that) for each class so you are welcome to come give us a hand if you like especially during our clay lesson Kris has scheduled for February. Most of your children probably participated last year in this wonderful program so they are familiar with Arts Attack. The main goal of the program is to teach every child how to express him/herself through art by: learning to draw, learning a variety of techniques,  working in a variety of media, understanding the art elements and principles and participating in multi-sensory experiences. The art work your children will create will be saved in your child’s art portfolio and towards the end of the year they will be able to choose their favorite piece of artwork to be displayed at the art show.   That is always an exciting time for the children and us volunteers!  The children will get to take their portfolios home at the end of the year so you all can cherish the wonderful art work they have created throughout the year.

We want to first extend a great big thank you to Ms. Weidetz for her wonderful support and enthusiasm for this program and secondly, to the PTA who continues to sponsor Arts Attack and last but not least to you all for supporting the PTA as your contributions have truly made it possible to continue providing this amazingly wonderful program!

If you should have any questions or would like to help on a particular day please feel free to call anyone of us.
