Bullying
Bullying starts in preschool, seems to peak during the middle school years, and declines during high school. We hear about bullying in the form of abusive spouses and in the workplace.
Bullies don't just grow up and grow out of it. They must be taught better ways of relating to others.
As parents and teachers of bullies, bystanders, and victims it is our job to help teach them new strategies and create bully free lives for the youth of today. Please encourage your child to tell someone (teacher, counselor, vice principle, or principle) the school needs to know so we can help.
Bullying happens when someone hurts another person on purpose. Surveys have indicated that more than half of students are bullied at some point during their school years. This can range from leaving someone out of a group, to pushing and punching others, to making others feel inferior, to forcing others to hand over their money or possessions. Sometime kids don't seek help because they aren't sure that the actions are actually bullying. Follow this link for more examples of what Bullying is.
It is
important to help your child with any bullying that he or she may be
experiencing. The effects can be dangerous! But you can take action. Visit this website to view a list of laws
