Creating an e-mail account

Objective:

-       To create an e-mail account- if you don’t already have one

Instructions:

  1. Open your Internet Browser (Internet Explorer)
  2. Type in the address for either yahoo (www.yahoo.com) or hotmail (www.lycos.com)
  3. Find the link for e-mail, and create a new account
  4. You will need to provide a bunch of information to set up your e-mail account. Do this, but do not sign up for any additional items to be sent to you.
  5. DO NOT forget you password, no one else should know it, and you won’t be able to get in with out it in the future.
  6. After creating your e-mail account, open a new e-mail by selecting the compose tab or button. (If you are no longer at hotmail or yahoo mail, you must login to your account using your new password.
  7. Send me, your instructor an e-mail. I will provide you with my e-mail address.
  8. Insert my address in the "To:" box.
     

  9. Insert "(your name's) first e-mail, Period (your period number)" into the "Subject:" box.

    Example:  John Doe's first e-mail, Period 2
     
  10. Then in the document window, insert the message, "Just to say hi!" At the end of your e-mail, type your name. This serves the same purpose as signing a letter that you handwrite to someone.   
  11. Send the e-mail to your teacher.  Then click on NEXT below
