Review Grammar Worksheet for Weeks 7-10
Directions:
- First, label any of the
grammar components we have studied thus far:
Prepositional Phrases,
Subject, Verb/Verb Phrase, Direct Object (DO), Indirect Object
(IO), Adverb Dependent Clause (ADV DC).
- Next, combine the two
independent clauses by changing the period into either a ; or a ,
+ conjunction. Use appropriate conjunctions that work with the
sentences, and use different ways to combine sentences.
- Loving
her avocation as a soloist, Mrs. Milling often sings at weddings.
She enjoys both classical and popular songs.
- Feeling
inspired to make someone happy, we threw Mrs. Kangas an impromptu
birthday party. She was thrilled with our kind gesture.
- Enjoying
the quiet of sunrise, Mr. Mitchell looked at the placid lake while
sipping his coffee. He sighed, knowing all was well with Mesa Verde.
- Speaking
slowly and clearly, Mr. Bird presented the students the new lab in a
lucid voice. He was very excited about this latest experiment.
- Wielding
his light saber, Luke fought off his adversary, Darth Vader. He had
just been told that the villain was actually his father.
