Find and article in the newspaper or online that you think has an excellent hook.

This is a real article, not a “google search,” Wikipedia, or caption. Use an online news source (Fox, NBC, CNN, PBS) about a current event.

Cut out the article, then respond to the following questions:

1. What type of hook did they use?

2. What about the writing makes it a good hook?

3. What is the topic of the article?

4. What concrete details (facts),
if any are used?

5. What transitions (if any) are used?
