Newscast from the Past
Your group is going to produce a newscast. It should report the facts on the, but also STIR EMOTION.
Watch any newscast and you will see them report the facts, but also try to get you to connect to the event. Be factual, yet creative.
1. Decide who will do which part of your broadcast. Each group member must research and cover one topic from the list below. (DC students must choose *’ed item.) Type your final draft and include two test questions with answers on your topic – one multiple choice question and one open-ended question.

2. Write a group script for the newscast. Each group member should present the parts that they were responsible for…in other words everyone in your group MUST speak! Decide the order, how to connect one to the other, etc. Once the transitions have been organized, everyone should make their own cue cards and rehearse, rehearse, rehearse.
