REG:  Timeline Directions:6 Major events of the Revolutionary War

 

  1. Draw a vertical in the middle of a clean sheet of your spiral.  This will be your timeline.  Label it neatly.
  2. Use your book and notes to research when the events below took place.
  3. Neatly write in the dates (month and year) for each event on your timeline.
  4. Cut out the boxes and glue them to the timeline and corresponding date you drew in your spiral.
  5. Add a colorful symbol, clip art, or drawing to each item to help you remember these six important events of the American Revolution.

 

 

Events to include on the timeline

 

American French alliance is signed.  The French help the Americans win the War against Britain.

 Battle of Bunker Hill:  The bloodiest battle of the Revolution.  “Don’t shoot until you can see the whites of their eyes.”

Washington secretly crosses the Delaware in boats to take the British army by surprise.

Lord Cornwallis surrenders at Yorktown, leading the end of the War.

Declaration of Independence is adopted.

Battle of Lexington and Concord:  “The shot heard ‘round the world.”
