Branches Metaphor
(DC activity)
Present a metaphor that completes this statement:
“The three branches of government under the Constitution are like a …”
See
the paper we gave you in class--the web does not support the way we labeled the
picture.
Directions:
- Choose a
metaphor that accurately depicts the branches of government.
- Title your
poster with the statement: “The three branches of government under the
Constitution are like a …”.
- Create a
central image for your metaphor. Your image should be bold and artistic. It
can involve drawings, magazine/computer pictures, or both. Label the terms
below as a part of your visual or a separate and appropriate visual that goes
along with your central image.
- Your metaphor
must make a direct comparison between the three branches of government and the
metaphor. In doing so, you must label on your metaphor the 7 required items
and at least 3 of the alternative items.
Required:
Constitution, The People, Executive
Branch, Legislative Branch, Judicial Branch, Checks and Balances, Separation of
Powers
Choice of at Least Three:
President, Congress, Senate, House of
Representatives, The Supreme Court
- Alongside or
below your image, write the word “because” followed by a list of the three
most important similarities between your metaphor and the Constitution.
