Fix the Government

The government of the states had many problems under the Articles of Confederation.  You are a representative of a state and must write a persuasive paragraph on how to change the Articles and/or the government so that it will work better.

1.      Choose one of the weaknesses of the Articles of Confederation you took in your notes.

2.      Write a paragraph about how to fix the problem.  Use the paragraph skeleton below.  Remember, be detailed, focused -- give this skeleton some muscle!   Record the paragraph in your SS spiral.

    Main Idea:  “I feel that our central government is too weak.  We need to fix it."

   Identify Problem: “One problem I feel we need to fix is ______________.”

    Offer solutions:  “We can fix it by…”  Solutions #1,2, & 3 sentences
