The Year in Review

You will be assigned one units of study from our Social Studies curriculum. You will work to review the unit to display your knowledge and in-depth understanding of each.  There will be four total assignments, which are:  An annotated map, a Venn diagram, a political cartoon, and a current event.  The last two will be presented to the class.

Venn Diagram: Must be hand drawn, colored/ink, and compare two people, places, or events from within your unit of study.

Exploration Example:  Compare Columbus’ actual findings with all those that he has been credited for throughout the years.

 

Political Cartoon: Must be hand drawn, black ink only, and must be an original idea.  Write a script to present the cartoon to the class.  Explain the cartoon and connect it to the unit you studied.

Exploration Example:  A picture of Henry Hudson finding NYC, not quite Asia, or is it?

Current Event: History really does repeat itself…research and connect your unit to a current event around the world.  Print one resource or article that aids your understanding of the current event.  Write a script to present the current event to the class.  Explain it and connect it to the unit you studied.
