Poway Pop Warner is a sport organization involving boys and girls, ages 5 to 15 years old.  There are 6 divisions of football with usually two teams per division depending on how many children sign up each year.  What team a child is put on depends on weight, age, and grade in the fall.  A boy or girl does not have to know anything about football to play.  Yes, there are girls that play for Poway Pop Warner!  The coaches will teach the players about teamwork and the rules of football.   A player must have good grades to play and must keep these grades up to continue to play.

A person can call the PPW hotline at (858) 679-8330 to get a football registration packet.  This packet includes registration dates, an application, and other important information a player may need.  If this packet does not answer all your questions, please leave a message on the hotline and the Football Player Coordinator will call you back right away.

The registration cost is $80.00 for 5 and 6 year old flag football players and $120.00 for tackle football players ages 7 to 15 years.  The fee includes a jersey, all equipment needed, socks, a trophy, and a yearbook.  At the end of the year, the player keeps his jersey and socks but gives back all other equipment.

In August a football player practices 5 days a week for 2 1/2 hours each day.  When school starts, they go down to 3 days a week - with games on Saturday.  Games are all over the North County at all different times.

A football player gets lots of exercise, learns the game of football, learns about good sportsmanship and teamwork, and has a whole lot of fun!
