Mrs. Harvey's Bio

I began my teaching career with the 1989-90 school year at Rolling Hills in Rancho Penasquitos. My first teaching assignment was a 5th grade class, but that changed the first three weeks of school ... I have taught 2nd, 3rd, 2/3 multiage, 4th and 5th grades.

Now at Monterey Ridge in the 4S Ranch community of San Diego, I had the privilege of opening this brand new, beautiful school in August 2006 as a member of the fourth grade team.

I have been married for 37 years and have two grown sons ~ ages 32 and 26. I also have three miniature dachshunds ~ Dixie and Trixie, and Tanner, whom the students hear many stories about.

Students always want to know how old I am? I tell them, "I was here when the dinosaurs walked the earth." You can do the math ~ I was born in 1952.

I am a huge Chargers and Padres fan and enjoy watching both teams play. My other favorite "free time" activities are knitting and making beaded jewelry and silver fusing. I have a passion for technology and also enjoy "playing" on the computer, although it is usually with a classroom focus. I also enjoy reading, and shopping when time permits.
