Requirements

What do I need to do?

Creating a board game might seem difficult at first, but if you modify an existing one it can be simple. I suggest that you bring in a game to have as an example. The most important thing at first will be the rules because you will be creating them first. After the rules are created , you can then work on the game board.

To create a game board, you need to create a board game idea:

Using and existing board game as a foundation changed at least 33% from the original game
Starting from scratch with a brand new original idea (the hardest way)
Working in groups to come up with a good idea or direction (remember that each student must do their very own work and the game must be visually different)
Creating an idea based upon something you know or can relate to in your life
Using an existing group, political group, friends, or organization as a start

How do I earn an 'A'

The Rules:

1.	Create the rules for the game meeting the following requirements below:

Create the rules having:

The Rules of the Game
Objective or Purpose
How to Win
Game Rules and Players Guide Title
Company Names and Logo
Company Address and Phone #
Pictures or clip art
Game Logo

Publication must be:

An idea that is either modified 33% from the original game or a whole new game idea
Using a wizard for company logo and setting up publication.
In Legal size format (8.5x14in.)
12 pt font for text body
Using a number or bullet lists
Using text frames with borders, shadows, and headings with at least 18pt font for:
- The Rules
- Objective or Purpose
- How to Win
- Game Rules and Players Guide
Connecting a text frame
Using Word Art with:
- A text style other than Plain (i.e. Deflate, Fade Up, Wave 1, etc.)
- Text Color
- Bold
- Stretch
- Rotate at least 5°
- Shading or Shadow
Using picture frames or clip art

List of game pieces
Game Logo
Layout of game (paths, maps, images)

Publication must be:

A game board that is either modified 33% from the original game or a whole new game board
Not using a wizard
As a second page
In Legal size format (8.5x14in.)
Using text frames with borders or shadows
Using word art
Grouping frames
Using picture frames or clip art
Using the layout guides margins set to .5 for all
Using layout grid guides set to 1 for row and 4 column
Using drawing, lines, boxes, oval or custom shapes
Using a table frame
