These tall
tales are abbreviated versions of the tall tales we wrote after much
study of the history of California
explorers. We also read about tall tale heroes including Pecos Bill
and Paul Bunyan to get an idea of how to use hyperboles, exaggeration and
similes to describe our explorers. Taking literary license we
tweaked the truth a little bit. We hope you enjoy reading these
tall tales as much as we enjoyed writing them.
