2nd Quarter

         Go to the Ruben H. Fleet Museum and visit the Cellular Journey exhibit.

         -Write up an essay detailing your experience and what you learned from the exhibit.  Pick
           up any materials they may have and attach to your essay. Get a parent that went with

Choose one of the following and complete by the due date:

  1. Research the 4 different blood types (A, B, AB, O). Find out which blood group is the most predominant and the one that is least predominant. Which blood groups are the universal blood groups and why?  Write up a report describing the 4 blood groups and answer the questions asked here.
  2. Draw a human heart and diagram the path that blood takes through the 4 chambers and lungs and teach someone. Get a signature on your human heart diagram to prove that you have taught someone the paths of the blood flow through the heart.  
  3. Research the Respiratory System and record the vocabulary associated with this system. Create a crossword puzzle using these new words.
  4. Find out what a well-balanced diet is and why it is so important. Based on this information determine if your diet is well balanced.
  5. Make a collection of fun, fascinating facts about the nervous system. Combine them with illustrations and put them in a display to share with classmates.
  6. Research some of the diseases of the muscular system like muscular dystrophy, heart disease, tendonitis, tennis elbow, or myasthenia gravis. Present your information in a report or a display with images.
  7. Draw a life size human skeleton on butcher paper. Label all the bones.

Go to the given website below and read what is a genetic disorder and write a description that explains genetic disorders in general. Go further into the site and find the descriptions for all the disorders.  Choose a disorder of your choice. Write a report with WORD or do a show with Power Point. The report should be 3 paragraphs or more; the Power Point should be 3 slides or more.
